The year-long celebrations will be conducted on a global scale and were kick started in India across all major Bosch locations in the country. The anniversary celebrations were kick started by unveiling the anniversary insignia on a giant banner. Symbolizing the ability to meet challenges of the future, the insignia’s 3 vertical lines represent the three business segments of Bosch namely Automotive Technology, Industrial Technology and Consumer Goods & Building Technology. While the central graphic element stands for upward movement and embodies positive force, the shape of its individual elements signifies electronics – such as microchips and solar cells. These elements are symbolic of pioneering technologies. The colour blue represents the technological expertise of Bosch while green stands for the environment. The blue to green colour gradation effect signifies technology that is environment friendly. The unveiling of the insignia is the first event of a series of events that will be conducted throughout 2011 as part of the 125 year anniversary celebrations for various Bosch stakeholders that include customers, employees, business partners and suppliers among many others. Apart from events focusing on associates, business, technology and innovation, in its 125th year Bosch will also focus on promoting education as part of its social responsibility commitments. In India Bosch will work towards school adaptation, improvement of school infrastructure and distribution of free text books and stationery at schools across the nation. Sharing his thoughts on the occasion, V.K Vishwanathan, President, Bosch India and Managing Director, Bosch Limited, said, “This is an occasion for us to reiterate, assimilate and appreciate the values that have made Bosch a successful organisation and a great contributor to society over many decades. Sheer resilience and the desire to tirelessly continue on the pursuit for excellence have ensured that Bosch has delivered better after every crisis. This milestone is symbolic of the contribution Bosch has been making towards society. Like always, Bosch will continue with its 125 year old tradition and endeavour to create technology that is greener, cleaner and more affordable.” Bosch came to India in 1922 and began manufacturing operations in 1953.
