Steelbird Hi-Tech India Limited, the world’s largest helmet manufacturer, has achieved another strong performance in fiscal year 2024-25, recording sales of 8.7 million helmets — a remarkable jump from 8 million units sold in the previous year. With a 10.07% increase in revenue, the company generated Rs 787 crore, setting its sights firmly on breaching the 10 million helmet sales mark in FY 2025-26.
Backed by consistent innovation, deep manufacturing integration, and a nationwide retail push, Steelbird continues to solidify its leadership in the helmet and rider gear segment. The year-on-year growth reaffirms its strategic investments and expansion blueprint laid out in previous years.
Steelbird’s production growth is fueled by ongoing upgrades to its Baddi-based manufacturing units, where new robotic visor systems, automated paint shops, and expanded assembly lines are pushing daily production towards 50,000 helmets per day. The company has also begun groundwork for a new greenfield facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, expected to serve OEMs and aftermarket demand across South India.
Rajeev Kapur, Managing Director of Steelbird Hi-Tech India Limited, attributed the company’s growth to its commitment to safety, innovation, and manufacturing excellence. “Every helmet we make is a step toward saving a life. The WHO estimates over 300,000 fatalities due to road accidents in India annually — a figure that’s likely underreported. It’s not just about meeting sales goals; it’s about addressing a serious national concern. At Steelbird, we’ve made it our mission to bridge that gap by making high-quality, stylish, and affordable helmets accessible to every rider,” he stated.
In FY 2024-25, Steelbird ramped up its product line with new helmet models equipped with Bluetooth, ventilation tech, and lightweight composites, delivering both safety and comfort. The company also introduced rider accessories such as gloves, goggles, and rain gear — a step towards becoming a full-fledged lifestyle brand for motorcyclists.
With over 200 exclusive Rider Shops already operational across India, Steelbird is working towards crossing 1,000 outlets in the coming years, enhancing retail access and offering customers tailored in-store service experiences.
Looking ahead, Steelbird aims to cross Rs 900 crore in topline revenue in FY 2025-26, while advancing towards its long-term vision of 15 million helmets annually and Rs 1,300 crore turnover by FY 2026-27.
