Okinawa emerges electric two wheeler champ, reveals FADA data

If there is one clear leader in the electric two wheeler space in India, it is Okinawa Autotech. According to retail sales data released by the Federation of Automobile Dealer Associations (FADA) for the month of May 2022, it is clearly indicated that the crown goes to Okinawa Autotech.

Hero Electric which has been in the business of manufacturing electric two wheelers has been left behind in the race for supremacy. And mind you, this is not a flash in the pan for Okinawa Autotech. While in May 2022 it sold 9303 units, its closest rival was Ola at 9225 units. Hero Electric was a distant 7^th with sales of a mere 2850 units.

Others include OEMs accounting less than 0.1% Market Share.

Let’s check out what the scenario was in the earlier months. In April 2022, according to FADA, Okinawa Autotech sold 11,012 units followed by Hero Electric with 6572 units and Ampere Vehicles with 6539 units.

In March 2022, Okinawa was a distant third with 8284 units in retail sales. The number one slot went to Hero Electric with 13023 units and Ola coming second with 9121 units. In Feb 2022, it was Hero Electric with 7356 units followed by Okinawa with 5923 units. Ampere came in third with 4303 units of retail sales.  The calendar year 2022 began with Jero Electric maintaining the numero uno position with 7763 units of retail sales followed by Okinawa with 5613 units. Now it is to be seen as to how long Okinawa will be able to retain its numero uno position.
