BYD
India, a subsidiary of China based BYD has
appointed Sanjay Gopalakrishnan, as its Senior Vice President for its electric
passenger vehicle business in India. Sanjay will be spearheading the Sales,
Marketing, and After-sales divisions.
BYD
(Build Your Dreams) now has four industries including Auto, Electronics, New
Energy, and Rail Transit. BYD is a Warren Buffet-backed company and is listed
both on the Hong Kong and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges.
Sanjay
Gopalakrishnan will be responsible for enhancing BYD India’s position in the
electric passenger vehicle segment. Sanjay comes with an overall experience of
25 years in the auto industry. In his earlier stints, Sanjay was associated
with brands such as Honda, Hyundai, Toyota, Nissan, and Fiat Chrysler
Automobiles (FCA) to name a few. In his previous assignment, Sanjay was the
Country expert for Changan Automobiles, which was planning to enter the Indian
Market.

on the occasion, KetsuJie Zhang, Executive Director, BYD India Private Limited,

continue with our growth plans for India and further accelerate our electric
passenger vehicle business in the market. He brings a deep understanding of the
Indian electric vehicles movement with leadership stints in Marketing, Product
& Strategy across automobile companies.”
As
a strategic and marketing expert with experience in Planning, Brand Management,
Product, Media analytics, PR & Digital marketing, Sanjay Gopalakrishnan
holds a Master Degree in Science and is an Alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad. He was
also a marketing & business consultant to Automotive Retail groups and
startup companies.
