What is NuGen Mobility Summit and how was the idea conceived?
NuGen is a biennial event that is going to be organised at ICAT Center-2 from November 27 to 29, 2019. The word ‘NuGen’ is derived from the concept of new generation trends and technologies. The idea of NuGen came to my mind while I was conceptualizing an event centered on disruptive technologies in the space of mobility.
How is NuGen important to the automotive industry and innovators?
NuGen will pave the way for world class innovation which would bring about a paradigm shift in the way that we look at vehicles. This event would provide a great platform for all participants to showcase their disruptive innovations and products. It would also provide the Indian auto industry an opportunity to understand global advancements in these areas.
What will be the major attractions of Nugen?
Our focus is to make this event as much interactive and intrusive as possible. Keeping this in view, we have incorporated events like track demos, touch-and-feel opportunities, vehicle ride sessions in addition to technical conferences on topics like Alternative Fuels, Connected Vehicles, Intelligent Transportation, e-mobility etc. which are futuristic solutions. Apart from these events, we are also inviting a large number of subject matter experts in relevant areas of work in order to share their knowledge. The conference will aim to strengthen the engineering community and bridge the gap among students, research scholars, scientists and engineers from leading academic institutions and domain experts of the domestic and global automotive industry.
How is NuGen different from other conferences and summits?
As the name suggests, NuGen would concentrate on new technologies and their presentation to the target audience along with the opportunity to actually experience them on tracks and labs for a better and meaningful appreciation of these technologies.
What are the technology areas that are covered in NuGen?
The NuGen Mobility Summit 2019 would exclusively focus on topics like; Alternative Fuels, Connected Vehicles, Intelligent Transportation system, E-mobility, Hydrogen Propulsion (including Hydrogen Generation, Hydrogen Fuel Cells and Hydrogen IC engine), Connected Mobility, Shared Mobility , Light weighting, End of life – vehicles (ELV) and Vehicle Dynamics. We strongly believe that all these domains are important and these areas would see huge technological shifts in coming years.
How many technical papers will be presented at the event?
We expect around 120 shortlisted technical papers to be presented. A Technical Review Committee has been constituted comprising of around 50 experts working in various organizations and Institutes to review and shortlist these papers.
How many people would be attending this event?
There would be more than 2500 people who would attend our event. This includes dignitaries from the automotive industry, academia and Govt. agencies.
What would be the total Expo area and what track events are going to be organised?
The total expo area for our event is a massive 11500 sq. m. We also have 6 halls where parallel conferences shall take place. One state-of-the-art auditorium is being built with a seating capacity of 850 people. Apart from these, we also have tracks such as Coast down track, Oval Track, ABS track, Hill Track and flood track that would be available for demonstrations and events. The events shall have vehicle level demonstration related to Autonomous Vehicles, Connected Vehicles, Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicles, e-mobility and Student Demos by Efficycle, BAJA, Supra etc.
