How excited are you
about the India Bike Week?
Excellent, it’s a great place. It is an annual event and
it’s been growing year on year. I am very pleased to be here, meeting all the
bikers, and all the bikers who love these legendary motorcycles. This show
started off in a small way and now in its latest avatar it has grown in
stature. The way this property has grown, everybody is thinking if you are a
real biker, you have got to be here at IBW.
You think Goa is the right
place for such a beautiful show?
In fact there are a lot of beautiful places in India. We
have not explored them. But surely Goa is a great place. It does have an
international feel about it. The sea beaches add to the beauty of this place.
But India has a lot of beautiful places to offer like the sand dunes of
Rajasthan, or a hill station, etc.
Tell us about the Indian
Motorcycle Riders Group (IMRG)?
Internationally Indian Motorcycle has launched this group
called Indian Motorcycle Riders Group. We are announcing the start of this
group’s India Chapter. This is all about giving our riders the pleasure of
riding together, giving the brotherhood sort of feeling, for long distance
riding. People would generally do a weekend ride for an hour or two, have breakfast
or lunch and come back. But we would give them platform where they can go for a
longer distance of a few days and enjoy the ride and of course the different
locations. We have some very exotic locations in mind.
How many are there
initially for this group?
To start with we have all the Indian customers who are
the owners of Indian motorcycles. They will be enrolled free for the first two
years. Thus every customer who has bought an Indian motorcycle in the last 18
months will be enrolled into IMRG. Moving forward we also have plans to get fan
memberships which is in case you don’t own an Indian Motorcycle bike you can
still be a fan. We are working on that.
