Taking
forward its association with Manchester United Football Club, and with the
increasing demand for the Apollo – Manchester United dual branded tyres from
customers and business partners, Apollo Tyres has introduced five additional
sizes of these tyres for the Indian market.
Considering the increased demand from
Manchester United fans across geographies, the company is also looking at
extending the dual branded tyres for premium motorcycles as well. The new tyre
sizes were unveiled today by Manchester United Legends’ Wes Brown and Dwight
Yorke, along with P K Mohamed, Chief Advisor, R&D, Apollo Tyres Ltd at the
Chennaiyin FC training ground in Chennai. Apollo Tyres is also the principal
sponsor of the Indian Super League (ISL) team from Chennai, Chennaiyin FC.
The
chosen sizes, are the ones which are very popular in India, covering a wide
range of vehicle fitment. The company believes that consumers in this segment
have a higher affinity towards football, and especially Manchester United.
Developed at Apollo Tyres’ Global R&D Centre in Enschede, The Netherlands,
these dual branded tyres will be produced in India for Man Utd fans.
The
dual branded limited edition tyres will be available in select sizes from
Apollo’s existing Alnac 4G and Apterra range. These tyres have a modern and
sporty tread pattern that is designed for superior handling in wet and dry
conditions; shorter braking distance and low noise. The unique mix of compound
ensures maximum traction and shorter braking distances on wet and dry surfaces.
These tyres have been extensively tested at leading global test tracks such as
IDIADA, Spain and ATP Papenburg, Germany, demonstrating excellent results.
