The new 5,574-square-meter
(60,000-square-foot) Manesar plant consolidates two older operations in near
proximity into one manufacturing location. The company invested more than $2.0
million (Rs 13.8 crore approx.) in the modernisation of the equipment and
facility, which will employ approximately 220 people. It will produce vehicle
headliners, center console systems, and instrument panel components and provide
expanded manufacturing and engineering support to domestic and global original
equipment manufacturer (OEM) customers in the New Delhi automotive region.
“IAC is committed to investing
in India and creating a meaningful presence near its major automotive centers,”
said Gajanan Gandhe, IAC Senior Vice President of Asia Operations. “Our new
facility in Manesar will help us better serve current customers’ needs and
offer regional advanced manufacturing and engineering capabilities for next-generation
vehicle interiors,” Gandhe stated.
This is the second location
opened by IAC in India in the past 13 months. In June 2017, a regional and
global engineering center was established in Pune to focus on application
development engineering to support the vehicle interior needs of domestic and
global OEM customer programs. With Manesar opening, IAC has five locations
throughout India and 18 design, technical, and commercial centers around the
world.
Headquartered in Luxembourg,
International Automotive Components (IAC) Group is a leading global supplier of
