Next time
when the roads are wet and you brake hard to avoid hitting someone and the car
comes to a sudden stop; You owe your life to not just the ABS in the car but
also to your tyres, provided you have the new Goodyear Assurance TripleMax
tyres. Assurance TripleMax is the first
tyre to have Goodyear’s latest Hydrogrip Technology. This technology reduces
braking distances by more than two meters on wet roads. The technology was
demonstrated at the F1 test track at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater
Noida.
Driving on
Indian roads, they say, requires tremendous skills because you face all kinds
of uncertainties like wet road conditions, rough surface conditions, unforeseen
pot holes, terribly designed speed bumps and breakers, pedestrians crossing the
road unexpectedly, etc. Obviously, you need to brake all of a sudden when you
come across these hurdles. It is here that the new Goodyear Assurance TripleMax
tyres come handy.
P.K. Walia,
VP Consumer Business, Goodyear India, noted that “The Assurance TripleMax uses
Hydrogrip Technology, a Goodyear proprietary technology that allows drivers to
reduce braking distances by more than two meters on wet roads compared to other
tyres in the market today.”
“Hydrogrip
Technology provides maximum wet grip through an innovative new tread compound,
maximum control via a larger surface area contact patch meaning there is more
rubber on the road, and maximum braking ability by way of biting edges with
large block elements. All of this combined results in a safer and more
comfortable ride,” he added.
Hydrogrip
Technology is a combination of the following three elements:
Maximum Wet Grip:
An innovative functionalised polymer tread compound with improved molecular
bonding gives the Assurance TripleMax tyre the extra edge to take grip to a
whole new level on wet and dry roads.
Maximum
Control: Larger surface area contact and optimised pressure distribution on key
block elements on the Assurance TripleMax tyre improves rubber contact with the
road, giving drivers more control during braking.
Maximum
Braking Ability: Equipped with biting edges with large block elements, the new
Assurance TripleMax tyre has an increased road contact area for extra security
when braking.
In addition
to significantly increasing grip and shortening braking distances, the Goodyear
Assurance TripleMax tyre is developed with two other key consumer needs in
mind; an increase in fuel savings and a high level of tyre durability. The
tyres are available in 14" to 16" rim diameters and in multiple sizes.
