The Society of Automotive
Engineers India (SAEIndia) Northern section successfully conducted “Effi-Cycle 2014”,
an inter college event on design and fabrication of an environment friendly
human cum electric power driven mobility solution. Into its fifth season, the
four-day event spread over October 9 to 12, 2014 at UIET College campus,
Chandigarh, saw the participation of 87 engineering college teams from across
the country.
It included three main test
sections, technical inspection, static tests and dynamic tests on the basis of
which points were given to the teams. In the end the team with the maximum
number of points won. On the final day the last test that of Endurance run was
held. All the teams drove together in a 2-hour long event in which the team
with maximum laps won.
The winner of the race was
team Green Rangers of Sant Langowal Institute of Technology which received a
prize money of Rs. 30,000 and the first runner up was team Revention of Guru
Nanak Dev Institute of Engineering and Technology which won a prize money of
Rs. 20,000.
Team Incredibles from Krishna Institute of
Technology, Ghaziabad was declared as Overall Winner of Effi-Cycle’14. Team
Revention from Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana was the runner up
and team Green Rangers from Sant Longowal Institute Of Engineering and
Technology, Longowal was the second runner up. The Overall winning team takes
home a prize of Rs 1 lakh while the first runner up team received Rs 75,000 and
the second runner up received Rs 50,000.
