While the
Hero Electric Photon will be a high speed scooter the Optima+ will be a low
speed one for more efficiency. The Photon can achieve a top speed of 45kmph and
has a range of 60kms and the Optima+ will be able to achieve a top speed of
25kmph and have a range of 65kms. The new Lithium Ion technology being
introduced is the primary factor for added cost but the company is currently in
talks with government officials to introduce subsidies and reduce VAT charged
on these products. Currently the Government of Delhi charges 12.5pc VAT on
Electric Scooters being sold in the city while a few other states have lower or
nil VAT charge for these products.
The E-Tipper
comes with a 48V/ 100Ah led acid battery which can propel the vehicle to a top
speed of 25kmph and has a range of 80kms. The E-Tipper also comes with a
hydraulic lift for the dumper which has a payload capacity of 300kgs. The
company has currently received an order for 50 E-Tippers ILFS for waste
disposal purposes while other infrastructure companies have also shown interest
in the product. The third and final product launched by the company today was a
two wheeler electric charging station of which two are to be installed in East
Delhi.
