Effective December 1, 2012, Mercedes-Benz India will have a new Managing Director and CEO, as Eberhard Kern replaces Peter Honegg who will be leaving India due to personal, family reasons. According to a press communication, Peter Honegg has announced his wish to return to Daimler Headquarters at Stuttgart. “In recognition of his long tenure with Daimler, the company management has readily agreed to support Mr. Honegg. Accordingly Mr. Honegg will resume office in Daimler AG headquarters in December 2012. All of us at Mercedes-Benz India will miss our dear colleague and a very experienced leader; however we are sure that Mr. Honegg will be an equally strong ambassador for Mercedes-Benz India at headquarters,” said a statement from the company. Kern, in the meantime has spent three decades with Daimler and has held various management positons in Mercedes-Benz headquarters, the Mercedes-Benz retail network, as well as in Mercedes-Benz Russia. He is presently the head of Mercedes-Benz Taiwan.
