Michelin, a worldwide leader in tyres and mobility, announced the opening of a first of its kind truck service centre MTSC, (Michelin Truck Service Centre), in Patran, near Patiala. Spread over 6000 sq. ft. the one-stop shop is equipped with state of the art facilities including a computerised truck tyre alignment machine, truck tyre repair machine, tyre fitment and rotation etc and offers end to end tyre-related services for trucks. It was inaugurated by Mauro Perin, Commercial Director, Michelin India, in the presence of other officials and guests.
The MTSC will help consumers reduce maintenance costs and optimise benefits from both Michelin and other branded radial tyres. The opening of MTSC not only deepens the availability of Michelin products and services along India’s highways but will also help to meet the soaring demand for Michelin radial tyres.
Mauro Perin, Commercial Director, Michelin India, said, “Roads are the dominant mode of transportation in India today. They carry almost 90 percent of the country’s passenger traffic and 65 percent of its freight. The highways across the country carry heavy traffic; therefore, that is where the demand for a service centre was inevitable.”
“In keeping with its commitment to India, Michelin offers services mainly for radial tyres, which help contribute to save fuel, by up to 10%. Truck Radial is the way of the future, it helps reduce the cost of the fleet owner by reducing his fuel bill and hence the overall expenditure on tyres.”
Currently Michelin has 4 MTSC’s across country in the regions of Patran, Jaipur, Sankari and Namakkal.
Surinder Bansal, owner Kisan Tractors and Engine Spares stated, “We are pleased and honoured to be associated with Michelin Tyres as their partner in MTSC. Partnership with Michelin, a leader in tyre technology, makes it possible for us to cater to the huge market of Radial Truck Tyres in this area. It also enables us to provide the best possible Tyre related services using the latest machinery and well trained staff.”
Patran is a town in Patiala district situated on N.H.71 and is a developing city of Punjab with high fertile land. It is big marketplace for rice having more than 100 rice sellers. This attracts high traffic for transportation of products as the town is connected with Delhi, Jind, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Patiala and Sangrur by well maintained roads. The need for a complete one-stop-shop here was unavoidable. In order to service the needs of the valued clients for both radial truck tyres & tyre related services, Michelin has opened its fourth MTSC centre in Patran.
It may be recalled that Michelin India opened its first MTSC in India in May 2009 in Kotputli, near Jaipur followed by the second in Namakkal, near Salem in December 2009 and third in Sankari in 2010. MTSC’s are committed to providing customers with quality and comfortable environment for comprehensive range of professional technical services and intelligence such as lesser downtime for tyre maintenance, lower vehicle’s operating costs, improved operational control and efficiency, high quality products and clear product pricing.
MTSC is an internationally successful format, particularly in the Asia Pacific region and is growing in India too. Michelin has maintained leadership position for more than 100 years, thanks to its relentless efforts in research and development.
