India has announced that Fiat India Automobiles Private Limited (FIAPL), its
world class manufacturing joint venture in Ranjangaon, near Pune, has won the
Platinum Trophy in the ‘Large Enterprise’ category at the EEPC India - QCI
Quality Awards 2019.
This
is India’s highest award for Quality Excellence and was bestowed by the
Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India at the recently
concluded 50th EEPC Indian National Awards.
The
Platinum Trophy was presented by Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of State –
Commerce and Industry to HK Dwivedi, Senior Vice President, Corporate Quality,
Fiat India Automobiles Pvt. Ltd. EEPC India is an ISO 9001 : 2015 organisation
run by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.
FCA’s
awarded-winning Jeep Compass is produced at FIAPL with 80% of the vehicle
comprising of locally-sourced components. The JV facility is also the global
manufacturing base for all Jeep Compass SUVs that are exported to right-hand
drive(RHD) markets all over the world. Currently, the Compass is being exported
to 13 International RHD markets including mature ones like Japan, Australia,
the UK, South Africa and so forth.

accreditation will encourage us to keep improving our efficiency and overall
capabilities.”
FCA
launched the Jeep Compass in India in August 2017,setting a high benchmark in
product quality. Earlier this year, FIAPL crossed the 50,000 production
milestone for the Jeep Compass.
