GoMechanic, a network of technology-enabled car service centres announced a services and maintenance partnership with Revolt Motors, makers of India's first AI-enabled electric motorcycle. The partnership is part of the “Electric Future” ethos for which GoMechanic will be making major infrastructure renovation at its workshops to accommodate dedicated EV servicing bays.
In the first phase, GoMechanic will extend service infrastructure through its network of workshops across Delhi. A select few of these workshops will also host state-of-the-art battery swapping infrastructure and there will be training by Revolt of its mechanics and technicians for EV diagnosis, service and repairs, a press release stated.
A brainchild of two IIM-A graduates Kushal Karwa and Amit Bhasin, GoMechanic, founded in 2016, is currently India’s largest network of technology-enabled car service centres, offering a seamless car service experience at the convenience of a tap. GoMechanic’s asset light model with centralized bulk procurement of spare parts from OEM’s, zero real-estate overheads and technology-driven efficiency, results in significant savings which are passed onto the customers. GoMechanic has 150+ car repair workshops across Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, and Bengaluru. It currently services 1+ million cars and is targeting 10 million customers by 2021.
