Honda's celebrates technology landmark; Sells 1 crore units with CBS

Date: 13 Sep 2016

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) sold 1 crore of its two wheeler models equipped with their CBS (Combi Brake System) technology. The CBS with Equaliser technology distributes the brake force equally to both wheels thus enabling more stable braking and reduces stopping distance.

Keita Muramatsu, President & CEO, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd., said, " Honda is leading innovation in technology that gives an extra edge to our two-wheeler customers worldwide. I am proud to share that the Combi Brake System with Equalizer introduced over 30 years ago have brought smiles to over 1 crore Indians and more. We are committed to introduce innovative advanced technology that realise the dream of ‘Mobility for everyone.”

In the case of conventional braking setups both front and rear brakes are applied by the rider simultaneously however the consistency of doing it correctly is not high and riders may not apply proportionate brake force to both wheels. The CBS technology reduces stopping distance and improves the stability of two wheelers while braking by distributing the brake force proportionately to both front and rear wheels. Currently Honda has the CBS technology available on 5 scooter models and 4 motorcycle models.
