GM India recalls Chevrolet Cruze sold between 2009-11

Date: 01 Sep 2016

In a statement released to the press, General Motors India announced the voluntary recall of a limited range of Chevrolet Cruze models sold between 2009-2011. The recall was initiated due to some Cruze models experiencing ignition loss or engine stall at low vehicle speeds.

The statement further indicated that customers will be directed to take their vehicles for inspection to the nearest Chevrolet dealership after prior appointment. The company has estimated it would take no more than one hours time for inspection, repair or replacement. The affected vehicles will be repaired free of charge at any of GM's service centres across the country.

“We are committed to putting our customers at the centre of everything we do and providing safe, high-quality vehicles. If we foresee a potential issue, we ensure that it is corrected as soon as possible, as part of our complete commitment to customer satisfaction. This is a voluntary recall and, as far as we are aware, does not affect the safety of the vehicle but we want to make sure that our customers experience the right performance from their vehicles”, said Markus Sternberg, Vice President,  After sales, General Motors India.
